If you want a light cake with some interesting texture, then you can try out this pressure cooker vanilla cake. The name itself explains the most important characteristic of this cake- yes, you are right! It is made in a pressure cooker instead of an oven. And that makes it easy to bake even for people who don’t have an oven at home. And because it is a vanilla cake, it is going to be everybody’s favourite. Starting from your kid to your grandma, everyone is going to love it. And guess what, you can also serve it to your guests, not just on some casual occasion but also some formal occasion like a party. Now, let’s check out the ingredients of this cake and how to prepare it-
- A cup of maida or all-purpose flour
- Half a teaspoon of baking powder
- A teaspoon of vanilla essence
- One-fourth of a cup of butter
- Half a cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- One-third of a cup of water
- A cup of sea salt or river sand to put in the pressure cooker
How to prepare the cake-
- Use a large pressure cooker of around 5 to 6 litres of capacity. Remove the gasket and the whistle from the lid. Now, put the salt or sand in the cooker and spread evenly.
- Sieve the all-purpose flour and the baking powder together in a pan.
- Now, add the vanilla essence to the dry mixture.
- Now, take another pan and put the butter in it. Then condensed milk, water and sugar also go into it.
- Now, place this pan on the stove on a low flame and keep stirring the mixture. Let the concoction boil. This boiled mixture now gets into the pan of dry ingredients.
- Take a wired whisk and blend the content well; make sure there is no lump in it.
- Make sure the batter is not too thick or thin; the consistency should be medium.
- Put the batter in a greased pan. Knock the bottom of the pan against some surface.
- Now put a stand in the cooker and place the batter pan on it.
- Close the lid of the cooker. Make sure the gasket and the whistle are not attached to the lid.
- Cook the cake for around 50 minutes. But it might also take as little as 30 minutes for the cake to get baked completely. It all depends on the size and quality of the cooker.
- You can check the progress of the cake by removing the lid. And no, you won’t have to switch the flame off for that. You can do the checking even when the baking is going on.
- Once the top of the cake becomes golden brown, it’s ready to be served.
- Make sure you let the cake cool before it gets sliced.
Although this is an amazing cake recipe, you might want to order a cake instead of taking all the pain of baking one on yourself. For that, you can go for any shop dealing in designer cakes in jaipur.
